Summer Time

by Brian Cox on Jan.09, 2010, under Music!

Everyone knows the amazing feeling of summertime. School is out, warm weather is upon us and the parties begin. This is a feeling we tried to capture in this song. Each of us wrote about what summer means to us, and the feeling you get thinking about the summer time. It is a time where most of us have no worries, a time to kick back and relax with your close friends, and a time that seems to go by way too quickly. This is a song we feel most can relate to quite easily because of how special summer time is to us all.

Ride With Me

by Brian Cox on Jan.08, 2010, under Music!

This is more of an upbeat club song. Anyone who goes to the club knows that there is always that moment where you spot someone you want to dance with, and the song takes us into that situation. Each verse guides a story of meeting a girl and as the situation continues, eventually leaving with her. Considering we are currently in college this obviously happens often, and we decided to lay it out on a track.

Heat

by Brian Cox on Jan.07, 2010, under Music!

Heat is one of our favorites. The reason for this is because it came together accidentally. We were all kickin it in the studio, having a great time when we decided to lay down some verses. For anyone who is a fan of The Roots they should recognize the beat. The original song is Guns Drawn, and the beat is simply bananas. As we were messing around we realized that the song sounded pretty good and decided to write the chorus and hook right there. Heat was one of our earlier songs, but one that we like the most.

Down For Me

by Brian Cox on Jan.06, 2010, under Music!

This is for all the girls who are down for their man, no matter what. Instant Classics likes to say these girls are “down for the set”, and the only girls we look to chill with. We have all had our serious relationships with the girl who’s down to ride, and decided to make it a track. Ladies if you’re reading this and think you aren’t this way, you better change it up because every man loves a girl that’s down to ride.

Down and Out

by Brian Cox on Jan.05, 2010, under Music!

Who wouldn’t get on this beat? Kanye is a genius when it comes to this, and we all wanted to do a remix. We all wrote our verses and killed it in the booth. We brought intensity and energy, with what was one of the best recording sessions we’ve had as a group. Although we get down to business, we know how to have some fun with it to. Music is a passion for all of us and this beat allowed us to show some artistic creativity. Shout out to Kanye for the beat.

Fallin For You

by Brian Cox on Jan.04, 2010, under Music!

This is a bangerr. We heard this song and fell in love with it. For anyone who has fallin in love this song captures that moment. We each wrote a verse about someone we started to fall for, and came together collectively to make the magic. This was one of our first songs we did together, and the chorus is crazyyyy.

Ease My Pain

by Brian Cox on Jan.03, 2010, under Music!

The song Ease my pain is personal. It gives an inside look at the addictions that grip many people throughout the world. The chorus is sampled from the film “Twilight”, and although the original song was not meant for drug abuse, we thought we would put our own spin on it. Many families and friends are torn apart each day because of a loved one who is addicted to one of these hardcore drugs who let it effect their everyday life. Our lyrics for the song come from several things. The first is seeing this happen first hand. When you’re faced with a situation, such as a loved one being addicted to harmful drugs, it has an immediate impact on everyone around them. The lying, the stealing, and the harm done to themselves is enough to tear any family apart. This was the most important basis for the song. Knowing what we have gone through we wanted to make a song for anyone out there who can relate to it in any way. The second basis for our lyrics is being educated on the topics we discuss. We pride ourselves on our intellect and actually being aware of what these drugs do to your body was extremely important to know before the song was written. The main message we hope to send people is not to try these drugs in the first place. With drugs as addictive as heroin and cocaine, half the battle is never trying. We have seen too many good people travel too far down the wrong path and before they know it, it’s too late to turn back. Instant Classics as a group wants to make the world a better place and our music is how we express our inner most feelings about the problems our society faces today.
